Previously I used to take order-made(choose item and fabric you want), however because my main job is being mum and I have limited time to work on sewing please understand that I charge $5 ($10 for mother's bag and Sling) for order-made items.

I have a sneak preview here just for you... I am working on Bamboo Sleeping vest and just finished making a sample.

This is like a sleeping bag though it is not a bag style. I find vest style is so much better in summer especially when the baby start standing up or walking.

I will improve couple of things and aiming to introduce it here sometime this month.

Beauty of Japanese food culture

My friend has a small restaurant in country side of Gifu prefecture.

It took us an hour drive to get there, driving through mountains and we saw beautiful coloured leaves. It is one of my favorite time of Japan, Autumn.

They renovated 120 years old house and providing contempolary Japanese meals made by local organic foods. Every time I visit here, I feel like being "Home".

Little man looked comfortable crawling around the restaurant.

Chopstick rest is peanut which made me smile!

Entree.

Japanese parfait. Black sesami and vanilla icecream, cooked rice cake, and azuki beans. Yum!

Enjoyed talking to my friend who haven't see for a while though I felt time passed so slowly whilest I was there.
It was a great opportunity for me to relax and enjoy beautiful meal.

I also had great inspiration from this experience. Everything in the restaurant is so simple!

In the restaurant, there are only necessaryfurniture and minimal seasonal decoration. It may look bare, though every single thing in the room are good quality and well looked after.

This is one of the thing I have in my mind when I design my products.

Being in Japan

Little man and I are in Japan with my family now.

Flight with 8 months old was quite challenging. But I am so happy to be here, where I grow up.

My sister told me that it's been extremely hot summer in Japan so I made a hat for my little man.

I found this pattern on Sling Book. I can adjust the size from 6 months old till 3 years old!

I used Denim Cotton outside fabric and Cotton&Linen fabric inside, which is left over fabric of my husband's sling.

It's getting cooler here, though this hat will be useful for a while.

Sling

I've finished couple of slings!

They look like a White, Dark and Strawberry Chocolates, aren't they? Looks yummy and pretty!

Fabric is 50% Cotton & 50% Linen, so its got strength of cotton but also breathable function of Linen. Perfect for sling!

I've put padding on shoulder area so quite comfortable for long time use. Pocket is also attached on the padding, this will be great to put car keys, wallet, mobile phone or whatever small things you need whilst you are doing run-in, run-out duties.

I didn't put any lace on Beige sling because I had a request from customer that she may use this sling with her husband. These were made to fit each customer's body, although if you don't have extreme body size difference between your partner, you can share one sling with him/her.

I made sling each for myself and my husband, but when we go out together I just use my husband's sling. He is 178 cm tall and I'm 163 cm, even we have 15 cm difference of height, because I've got big breasts (I'm not showing off at all, it is because of breast feeding!) I found quite comfortable using bigger sling. This may not apply to all couples, it really depends on each people.

No lace sling is nice and simple, it's great for dads.

If mums want their own sling, I recommend to put pretty laces!

I only use natural cotton laces or tape laces (big flower look lace is called tape lace). This is something I love and laces will be used lot more in future Mintii products.

What's happening

I've started sharing this blog to people who showed interests to my products, so I think it's time to let you know what's going on.

I've started to selling my products privately at the moment.

Some products are already made and they are waiting here to be taken by new owners.

I do order made as well, although I've got plenty of orders which need to be done in 10 days!

So unfortunately I'm not taking any request orders until November.

Little man and I are off to Japan next Friday for 2 months.

While we are in Japan, unfortunately I won't be taking any orders, however I'm going to work on 2010 Summer Collection. This will be huge, more varieties and more baby stuff! I'm designing lots of baby products with beautiful bamboo fabric at the moment.

When we return to Australia in November, I will organize 2nd bags and bubs party to launch my products for summer. I am also planning to have a stall in Cotton Tree market on the Sunshine Coast as well. I will keep posted more details here when it gets closer.

It will be great opportunity for me to go back to Japan for 2 months. I haven't been in Japan for this long for nearly 5 years so I will do a lot of research, fabric shopping and designing! Of course, spend lots of time with my family and eat heaps of Japanese yummy food too! :)

Last time we were in Japan, we saw beautiful cherry blossoms...

Japan is such a beautiful country and I am so happy to be able to stay there for 2 months!

(And I am hoping not to forget English and won't be any more worse than right now!! lol)

Bag party

My wonderful friend organized a party to introduce my handmade products yesterday.

I was bit nervous to show them but I've got quite orders that I wasn't expected and also made me so excited!!!

I'm so appreciated for customers who purchased my products yesterday!!!

Most popular order was this handmade sling.

Fabric is 50% Cotton and 50% linen so both parents and baby are quite comfortable using it.

It is compact, and easy to set baby in. You can use this sling from birth until baby is too big to fit in the sling. You can also put baby facing forward (Joey position) so that baby can look around.

Best thing about this sling is I make each sling to fit each person's body. So you will have a perfect contact and fitting with baby and sling.

I will start selling this sling online soon.

I am also planning to organize the party regularly to show my products and take orders. We had yummy food and lots of girls talk which gave me so many fun and great ideas for my products. It was very relaxed and homely atmosphere.

I will also offer special price for my products too! :)

Stretch pants

My little man is a fitting model.I designed stretch pants and made a sample.

I really love the shape and also pattern of this fabric! Except I forgot to match the direction of stripes in butt part... :(

Selling baby & kids clothes is one of my dream. I hope this dream come true very soon!

Labels I ordered few weeks ago finally arrived from Japan!

I've put them on some bags that I am going to sell this weekend.

Looks more professional and bags looks so much better with these labels.

Marimekko bag

Whilst I was making a sample bag, I miscalculated the measurement...

I'm doing my best not to waste any fabric, so I had to finish this sample in different form.

And it turned out a cute girly bag.

When I was a little girl, I loved Blue colour. Everything I chose was blue.　

Whilst I was pregnant with my little man, I was obsessed with Green. Everything I chose was green. Even most of the food I was eating!

But when I saw this beautiful Marimekko fabric at the store, I fell in love with blue again.

Marimekko is popular Finish label and making beautiful design fabrics.

Vivid primary colours with simple but attractive flowers makes me so happy just looking at it.

I finished this bag and went out with my little man.

It was a beautiful sunny day, but I felt even more special with this bag :)

Little man is now 6 and a half month old. Where the time gone?

He is just so curious and can't stay still at all!

He gives us a lot of surprises, smiles, happiness and challenges.

Couple years ago I would never imagined myself having this awesome experience.

Life is just getting better and better!

Why wouldn't I think life is awesome seeing this gorgeous smile?
